The Columbia Undergraduate Journal of History is honored to release the more than fifty articles nominated by professors as outstanding undergraduate scholarship for publication with us.
Although the first issue of the Journal contained only submissions from Columbia, our second issue contains articles from history students across the country. We have submissions from Harvard, Yale and Princeton in the East; from Berkeley and UCLA out west; Vanderbilt, Rice and the University of Texas, Austin in the South just to name a few of the nearly 30 universities and colleges represented.
We post all nominated papers online because nomination itself is an honor worthy of recognition, and also because we believe undergraduate can benefit from having access to this larger body of scholarship produced by other undergraduates.
Our editorial board is currently selecting the articles which will be published in the Fall 2008 Issue of the Journal. In the meantime, congratulations to all the authors who were nominated. We will be announcing those articles selected for publication in the print journal in November, as well as the authors invited to participate in the Herbert Aptheker Undergraduate History Conference.
